Bringing Rhythm, Connection and Wellbeing to Regional Western Australia
The Regional Rhythm Roadshow is an initiative of Sustaining Rhythms designed to bring engaging rhythm, drumming and wellbeing experiences to regional communities across Western Australia.
Many regional communities have limited access to specialist facilitators, wellbeing programs and participatory arts activities. The Regional Rhythm Roadshow aims to make these experiences more accessible by bringing drums, percussion and facilitated programs directly to communities.
No musical experience is required.
All instruments are supplied.
A Vision for Regional Connection
Regional communities have a strong tradition of participation, community spirit and helping one another.
The Regional Rhythm Roadshow is being developed to support these strengths by offering engaging rhythm experiences that bring people together through creativity, participation and shared enjoyment.
Programs may be delivered in partnership with:
- Shire councils
- Community Resource Centres
- Libraries
- Schools
- OSHC services
- Aged care providers
- Community organisations
- Wellness groups
- Festivals and community events
The aim is to create meaningful experiences that strengthen community connection and encourage participation across all ages.

Why Rhythm?
Rhythm is one of the most accessible forms of music-making.
People do not need musical experience to participate.
Within minutes, participants can experience the enjoyment of creating music together while developing connection, communication and a sense of belonging.
Rhythm can cross generations, cultures and backgrounds, creating opportunities for communities to come together in positive and meaningful ways.
Flexible Delivery Options
Roadshow visits may be tailored to suit the needs of individual communities.
Options may include:
- Single events
- Community workshops
- School visits
- Multi-day visits

Where sufficient interest exists, follow-up visits and repeat roadshows may also be explored.
Building a Regional Network
The Regional Rhythm Roadshow is currently being developed, and community interest will help shape future itineraries and destinations.
If your organisation, school, library, community group or local government area would like to see rhythm programs delivered in your region, I would love to hear from you.
Expressions of interest will help identify communities where roadshow visits may be coordinated most effectively.
